Why The Driving Age Should Be Raised To 18

First thing Sunday morning you go outside to get the mail and you open up the news paper and on the first page it says high school student killed instantly in a car accident. You think to yourself what a waste of a life. I truly believe that the driving age should be raised to 18.

There are lots of different types of bullying ,emotional bullying, physical bullying , cyber bullying and lots of other little things that may not seem to be bullying but really all add up to be one of these. Cyber bullying is a really strong way of bullying and it's used through modern technology like cell phones. Did you know that over 80% of teens have a cell phone and use it regularly and probably more teens have a Facebook account, twitter account, tumbler account and the worst of all Ask.fm ?

Why boarding school is a good idea ???

Imagine being away from your parents and being with your mates 24/7. Imagine not having your parents tell you what to do for 40 weeks of the year. I believe that going to boarding school will be the best and most valuable time of your life that is why today I am going to talk to you about why boarding school is a good idea.

BRYCE'S OPENING PARAGRAPH

WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A ANIMAL FOR AG DAY!

Clevedon school should all experience having to raise a animal for Ag day Why because they are really funny, comical and entertaining animals. I've had lambs over the past 7 years. My last few lambs were really funny because they would do stupid things like my last year's lamb would jump on top of its kennel and guard it from you but if you go too close she would bunt you.

Matt's Speech Opening

Matt's speech introduction

Imagine waking up in the morning and not having to worry about getting organised to travel to school, because your school is located in your home. Your class could be in the dining room, office, lounge, back lawn, swimming pool or even the toilet!!!  You could be relieving  yourself  and completing your maths at the same time. That’s time management skills. Does your school teacher allow you to do this activity while doing maths? I don’t think so

Connor's Speech Introduction

Connor's Speech Introduction

Would you like living in a damp, cold, moldy home in the middle of winter.  I don’t think so.I strongly believe that there should be something done about New Zealand poverty. Why should poor innocent, helpless, kids have to live in an unhealthy environment as it effects the child's health? Surely there should be something done about it. I am concerned about diseases in New Zealand like rhematic fever that haven't been seen in Europe for 50 to 100 years and it is now being seen in NZ.

KIng Kuanakah and the Magical Grant

King Kuanakah & The Magical Grant

Many years ago in the foreign land of Buhanae there lived King Kuanakah. King Kuanakah was a wonderful, loyal king who cared for his surroundings and family dearly.

When gold became more expensive and was slowly becoming extinct, King Kuanakah became so angry he began leading his Kingdom in many wrong directions. They started to turn against him and the King began growing so cruel and nasty that one day when Izzybeth went to give her father some Goldeniars (special golden stones) he threw them to the ground whilst saying only real gold CAN make me happy and stormed off ungratefully to his gold chamber, counting his gold angrily while muttering horrible things.

Suddenly a very peculiar figure appeared and said in a loud and stern but welcoming voice “I am here to grant you one wish and one only.” King Kuanakah said after paying very little attention “I wish and only wish for everything I touch to instantly turn to gold.” The peculiar shadow had slowly faded and had gone. King Kuanakah ran up the golden old-fashion but wonderful staircase faster than he had before and ran frantically to the garden and with the slightest touch of his palm it turned to gold.

He rushed inside to have dinner unaware of what was going to happen next. He sat down in his chair and it turned to gold, he picked up his cutlery and they turned to gold. He began to eat his dinner and it turned to hard and uneatable gold. King Kuanakah began to weep sadly. Izzybeth saw her father cry and ran to give him a hug and instantly she turned to a golden pearl.
King Kuanakah raced to his golden chamber to see if the strange thing was still there. He was about to turn to leave when the strange shadow appeared. King Kuanakah said ashamedly “Please, please, may you help me?” I need the Golden wish erased. Since that wish everything has become wrong.” King Kuanakah was beginning to explain about all of the things when the very strange figure quietened him. “I shall take your wish back If you do as I say.” said the strange figure. “I shall,” cried the King feeling very ashamed. “You my King must bathe in the Stream at the far end of the palace and while you’re in there everything you touched or had touched you will turn back to their normal selves.”

King Kuanakah jumped into the stream with his goggles and shorts and instantly everything turned back to normal. Leaving the gold to drift frantically to the bottom of the dark and deep stream King Kuanakah rushed to apologise felling very ashamed inside. Izzybeth and Elisebeth now forgave the King and accepted him for what he had done. And know we know why Gold is in our waters today.

How amphibians came to be

In this myth Alanah was focusing on using different starters

How amphibians came to be.

A long time ago in the cold waters off the coast of Australia lived a small frog called Bilbo. Bilbo had explored every inch of every ocean in the world, the Arctic, the Tasman and even the Pacific. He had brought back souvenirs from his adventures, swirly, sparkly shells, colourful diamond rocks and even a tooth from the mighty 12 foot long shark. Soon Bilbo became bored and tired of the same old ocean, so one glorious day hyped up Bilbo set out to explore the land.

Bilbo swam as fast as he possibly could over to the edge of the ocean. Cautiously Bilbo crept up to the edge, took one step and plop the short stubby frog fell flat on his little slimy face.

Covered with sand Bilbo reluctantly sat up as he was crowded by seagulls and turtles. Bilbo stood up very wobbly, pushed through all the seagulls and turtles and sprung into the cold ocean of Australia. Feeling very embarrassed he swam back to his underwater colony. All of a sudden kerplonk, Bilbo had just wriggled into the king of the ocean... The Shark. Poor little Bilbo cowered in fear as he was being towered by a gigantic frog eating carnivore. The shark grabbed Bilbo by his tummy, squeezed him hard and yelled "Who dares bump into me like that?" in a stern angry voice. Shaking Bilbo held his head up high and proudly stated "My name is Bilbo and I was just trying to explore the land." The shark looked very puzzled by this statement. No one had ever spoken to him like that before.

"A sea creature exploring the land, I've never heard of such thing, beamed the shark giggling under his breath. Proudly Bilbo interrupted his silly laughter and yelled " I have explored every inch of every ocean of the world and I do not intend to stop there. The shark was most annoyed now but he admired the frogs determination to explore the land.

Wickedly the shark showed his big rows of sharp teeth to Bilbo and snarled at him "Did you have any success? Frightened Bilbo told the whole story about how he fell over and woke up surrounded by seagulls and turtles. Thankfully the shark let out a huge sigh of relief." I don't want you ever going out there again, bellowed the shark as he turned and swam away. Sad little Bilbo swam back home.

Day after day Bilbo lay on his spunky coral bed with the words that shark had said echoing in his head. After Bilbo got sick of lying in his bed one day he set out to find the shark who had yelled at him to never go on land again.

One day passed ... No luck. Two days passed ... No luck. But on the third day just as Bilbos flippers were all red and were about to come off, he spotted the large ferocious shark having a conversation with an animal which shark referred to as Tiger.

Tiger had massive sharp teeth much like sharks but not as many. He had an orange body with long curved, black stripes that fell over his back. A long noodle like object sat on his bottom trailing across the ground. They both had a stern look in their eyes and by the way they both looked worried, Bilbo knew that it was about him. Sneakily Bilbo tiptoed up behind shark and lightly tapped him on the shoulder.

Shark jumped as high as a kite and then slowly floated down in a pool of bubbles. Bilbo had no hesitation in saying what he went there for. Shark, I demand you let me walk on land and explore the wild life of Australia. Shark had a faint smirk on his face as he whispered  " I'm afraid you will have to ask Tiger. Tiny Bilbo stared up at Tiger who was sat upright on the dry sand. " I'm Bilbo, he said quivering. Tiger bent right down so that her nose was an inch off touching the cold waves that crashed on the shore. " Yes you would like to explore the land... Sure you can ". A huge grin came over Bilbos face. Alas Shark and Tiger held up their hands and waved them all about. The water started to twirl and Bilbo started to go up and all of a sudden short webbed feet shot out of his stomach. Then he fell down onto the hot sand right next to Tiger. Then he took his first step.

He had done! it Bilbo had taken his first step on land. Without hesitating Bilbo raced off to the jungle forgetting to thank Tiger and Shark, but he knew they would all meet again.

Why Monkey's arms are so long

Ikaia was learning to organise her writing into paragraphs

Why Monkey's Arms Are So Long

Centuries ago in a misty rain forest there lived many animals but only one
species of animals stood out the most, the monkeys.
Unfortunately the monkey family were very odd. Sadly they
had sort stubby arms, crawled on the ground and ate flowers
and centipedes. Life was very boring in the forest because all
the animals were lethargic and sluggish. However that was all
about to change in the very near year.

Banana the monkey was very adventurous and playful but all of the other animals
disliked the fact that he had so much energy. Poor Banana was punished for being so
energetic because all the other animals were jealous of his behaviour.
One sunny day Banana was being his usual self. Jumping around he was so focused on
trying to climb the biggest tree in the forest that he forgot that tree was the possum’s
family tree. Mother and father possum were arguing a lot about what to have for dinner.
When they both saw Banana trying to climb their tree. Fuming possums scurried down
the tree and grabbed Banana by the arms and pulled so hard that Banana thought that
was his life gone.

Fortunately something caught the eye of mother and father possum and scurried away.
Upset Banana managed to run away from them. His arms were dragging on the ground.
His arms were at least two meters long.
As Banana walked home all the animals laughed at him and his long arms. Mother
monkey asked him what had happened. Upset Banana explained to her about his little
adventure.

To this day monkeys have long lanky arms and because of Bananas amazing attitude
monkeys eat bananas instead of flowers and centipedes.
